Meera Patel, NCC, BC-TMH
Meera Patel is a second-year Counseling Psychology Doctoral Student at the University of Memphis. She is from Knoxville, TN, and completed her B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Information Sciences from the University of Tennessee — Knoxville. She completed her M.Ed. at Lincoln Memorial University in Mental Health Counseling.
Meera’s background includes working with severely and persistently mentally ill populations as a mobile crisis clinician and criminal justice liaison at a community mental health agency. Her previous clinical experience has instilled a passion in her for promoting social justice and services for populations that have been historically and systemically overlooked and underserved. Her ongoing clinical research interests include jury decision making, re-entry programs, criminality in minority populations, and personality disorders. After graduation, she hopes to work in a correctional setting.
